Chris’s indictment hearing today (June 12th) was very brief – there was a reschedule for Friday, June 15th at 1 PM at Belmont & Western, Chicago, Illinois. Please come if you can make it.

Just got word from Chris’s parents that yesterday Chris fainted in jail, hit his chin, subsequently had to get seven stitches. The Cook County Jail Hospital is supposedly going to do tests to try to determine why Chris fainted. The jail did not call Chris’s family or me to notify us that there had been an accident of any kind; it was Chris that called to make us aware of what happened. That is all the information I have for now.
We are very worried, very scared, and more heartsick than ever. Please help us get him out.

Send Chris Books

Chris is an avid reader and will read anything you send to him. However, there are some books in particular that wants to be sent, if possible.

If you have the chance, check out Christopher’s Amazon Wish List for specific books he is anxious to dig into. If you do get him something off of the wishlist, try to check it off so that others don’t get him the same one. If you can’t get something off of the wishlist but would still like to send him soft-cover books, perhaps browse some of the titles authors and see recommended books related to those topics.

Some people here in the land of the sky just had a benefit waffle brunch for a fellow southern anarchist, Chris French.

 

French is an anarchist from Atlanta who was arrested  at the anti-NATO beat down in Chicago and is currently being charged with aggravated battery of a police officer and has a bail of over one hundred thousand dollars. Please donate to his defense and write him letters. Shout out to the comrades in the big A from you friends in the little A!

Free Christopher French Waffle Brunch @ Firestorm Cafe

Our friend and comrade Christopher French is still in jail after being arrested 2 weeks ago at the NATO Summit protests in Chicago.

In a demonstration on Sunday evening, Christopher was arrested along with several others in a barrage of police violence.

He is being charged with alleged “aggravated battery on a police officer” and “resisting police.” His bond (intially set at an absurd $250,000) has been reduced to $100,000 so we need $10,000 to get him out.

Letter-Writing Party for Chris

The first Sunday of every month, some folks in Atlanta meet up to write letters to prisoners with the intention of building up a network of people who are prepared to offer material support to those on the inside.

Aside from writing to political prisoners for their birthdays, the group all wrote Chris French this month to tell him how much they miss him, or how they heard about his case and wish him luck etc.

Bond Hearing

So Christopher’s bond hearing went well today!

His new bail is $100,000 which means we only have to raise $10,000 to get him out!

A fundraiser is being planned in Atlanta for June 8th and there should be t-shirts and posters in the coming days available for donation.
